New Blog
Hello friends, it’s time for me to say goodbye to Tumblr…I have a new blog. Please come visit me here in my new location cause otherwise it will be a little lonely.
The Secret World of Alex Mac
I was born in the 80’s and had most of my teen years through the 90’s so it makes sense that one of my favourite TV shows of all time would be The Secret World of Alex Mac. Pretty much the story goes that Alex the main character gets chemicals dumped over her and she gets super powers, like shooting electricity out of her fingers and turning into goo. This paired with her amazing hats...

Joie Magazine - Fall 2011 the extras
I’m so excited to share the rest of the Joie fall shoot with you today. As I mention before I got to work with the lovely models Lauren and Hannah, Hannah also helped style the shoot and designed some of the lovely clothes she wore. Many of you would also recognise the beautiful stylings and designs of Lisa Barrett, the brains behind Tango & James.
These aren’t all the images...
Joie Magazine - Fall 2011

I’m excited to share the images with you from my shoot on Monday.
Instagram
As you know I love taking photos and I’m also a little bit of a sucker for social networking…so I joined Instagram. Pretty much you have a profile, you take cute photos on your phone and then they get posted on your Facebook and Twitter. If you join please let me know, I’d love to follow you!
Here are a few of my Instagram shots.
Jane Campion
Jane Campion is a visual genius…her movies are spectacular. There is a sadness and beauty to her pictures that I love so much.
The Piano is almost 20 years old, but it really is a timeless movie…with an incredible sound track.
Bright Star is also amazing.

Evan & Zoe's Engagement
I’m so excited to share this shoot with you today! Evan and Zoe are an amazing couple and it was so much fun to take their engagement photos. We started the day sharing a little food and drink at Tilley’s in Lyneham and then we moved to the park so Evan could teach Zoe how to throw a boomerang. This was quite a fitting activity as Evan is Australian and Zoe grew up everywhere (a...
Blog's about Dave
I have a hilarious friend named Dave and he is featured in two super funny Blogs that you should check out. His wife Jessica writes a blog called “Crap that Dave says” which is exactly that…crazy stuff that Dave talks about. Then recently Dave started his own blog called “Crap that Dave dreams” which is filled with all his crazy dreams…this blog cracks me up! It...

SOHI - Kids Shoot
Some of you may remember last year I did a shoot for SOHI Magazine’s summer issue (check it out here) and the other day I realised I never showed you some of the extra shots that didn’t make the issue. This was such a fun day, it was my first and only time shooting kids fashion.
The King's Speech
I’ll admit I wasn’t really that interested in watching The King’s Speech, I know it got great rotten tomatoes and it won all sorts of awards…but it didn’t really look like my sort of thing. So boy was I surprised when I finally sat down (or lay down as I was sick) and watched it.
The story was lovely, but more than that the visuals were amazing! Beautiful foggy...

Nanette & Tarun's Wedding
I’m so excited to be sharing Nanette & Tarun’s wedding with you today. They might just be one of the greatest couples I have had the pleasure of shooting…they were just so much fun! This was a wedding planned so that the guests would have a great time, from the McDonalds snack break for the wedding party, to the ‘kids bag’ full of colouring in or the amazing...
Movie Ring Bearers
I’m sick and I have been for the last week or so…the only good thing about this (besides getting to catch up on movie viewing) is I have lots of time to think. Yesterday all over the news there was the couple who had the Lord of the Rings themed wedding, complete with Gollum as the ring bearer. If you missed it go here and get ready you are in for a treat. As I mentioned I’ve...
Winter Wonderland - The Family
The other styled shoot at Winter Wonderland was a family. Now I’m not a family or children’s photographer, so I kind of hung back during this shoot…but I still learnt some new tips and managed to snap a few shots to share with you!
There are a few more shots on my Facebook.
Winter Wonderland - The Couple
Good morning friends! Today I’m excited to share with you some more images from the Winter Wonderland workshop I attended. Christine did a wonderful job organising a shoot for the second afternoon which was styled the very talented Scout & Charm. Here are some of the images I took that afternoon, the rest will be on my Facebook.

Winter Wonderland - Kate
While I was at Winter Wonderland I had the privilege of photographing Kate Bussey in one of our projects…she was a wonderful model and I was so happy with how they turned out!
Winter Wonderland
I just got back from Winter Wonderland, a lovely photography workshop put together by Christine Pobke. It was great to spend a weekend learning from Christine, Samm and Sheye and spending time with like minded people. I’m excited to be sharing some images with you from the workshop over the next week or so.
BFF
When we were visiting our good friends Dave and Jessica in Minnesota we thought it would be funny for the boys to have ‘Best Friends’ photo shoot. It was hilarious…even when I was editing the photos of Caleb and Dave I was cracking up! I hope you enjoy this bit of fun.

Joie Fall - behind the scenes
This weekend I had the pleasure of shooting another fashion spread for Joie Magazine. I had a lovely time down at Uriarra Crossing with Lisa, Hannah and Lauren. I took some behind the scenes shots so you can have a little snoop into what we were doing, enjoy!
If you want a little more detail about what’s going on in the photos check out my Facebook. Also if you are interested in seeing...
Pigeon Toe
It seems everywhere I look at the moment I see Pigeon Toe products…and why not? They are amazing! Pretty much at the moment I’m sorting through my favourite pieces trying to work out what to buy first. So I thought I would show you what I’m deciding between.
The Pleated String Lights are on the very top of my list.
I’ve been very into triangles at the moment, so...
Baseball
I like sports a lot. I love going to a game! The crowd, yelling being socially acceptable and eating hotdogs…what more could you ask for?
When I first lived in the states and met Caleb we used to go see the Twins play all the time as it was a cheap night out ($3). So when it was announced that the Twins had a new stadium I knew we would have to go to a game next time we...
Virgin Suicides
Many of you know how much I love Sofia Coppola movies…the woman is a genius.
My love affair with her movies began with Virgin Suicides, I remember seeing it in high school and being mesmerised by its beautiful images and story telling. If you haven’t seen it…you must!
The Cabin
The first thing we did when we arrived in the States was to visit Chipotle (to eat a burrito the size of a baby). The second thing we did was to travel north of the Twin Cities and go to our friends Dave and Jessica’s cabin. We had a lovely few days…reading, watching Harry Potter, cross stitching, sleeping and going out in the boat. Hope you like.
At the Zoo
I’m not the biggest fan of family portraits. Perhaps it’s that I began my photographic career working in a ‘family’ studio and spent my days getting my hair pulled by screaming children. I’m not a kid person…but I love my nieces and nephews! They could pull my hair all day long and I wouldn’t love them any less. I also love taking their photos, yes I do...

The Forest of Hands and Teeth
If you’ve been reading my blog for any amount of time you will have realised by now that I try and keep things interesting by not just talking about photography. Today I’m sharing with you one of my favourite series of books. The Forest of Hands and Teeth is exciting, it has a little romance and most of all there are heaps of zombies in it! What more could you ask for? Well two more...
History
Getting ready photos, all photographers take them these days…but which are the best? We get to see beautiful hotels, amazing holiday destinations, but by far my favourites are in the families homes. You get a sense of history, seeing the family in the house they grew up in…it just seems right. Amanda & Jeff got married in May and Amanda’s parents house was perfect for getting...
N.E.E.T Magazine
Have you seen N.E.E.T Magazine before? It’s an amazing publication and this month I’m in it! Make sure you check it out….see if you can find me, not my photos but a photo of me.
The Generation
I’m not a vegan…sometimes I’m not even sure what a vegan is. But what I do know about vegan’s is that they sure know how to make lovely shoes! Take a look a these cute flats from The Generation and tell me now that you don’t want to be a vegan…or at least wear their shoes!

Young Families Project - Keeley & Ben
In my family the women don’t have babies until they are a least 28 and this is what I’ve always wanted. But I made the mistake of thinking that having kids early was a silly idea…boy was I wrong! It took a whole lot of my friends having babies in their early 20’s for me to realise this, they are amazing parents and they have wonderful families!
So to help change the stigma...

tHe Horse
If you haven’t heard about tHe Horse yet, you should have. They make some of the loveliest shoes I’ve ever seen. “Based upon the idea of ‘each feet personality’, tHe Horse wears & grooves in smiles & tears as your feet live, birthing individual character.” Make sure you purchase a pair for yourself.
Travel Time
Next week I’ll be leaving for my first holiday since March last year! I’m so excited to have a rest and to see my friends and family in the USA. Keep your eyes open for more from this shoot later in the week!
Friday Night Lights
Lately Caleb and I have been working our way through Friday Night Lights, I’m pretty into it. Firstly because I just love American Football and secondly because I think the show is so visually beautiful. Creative camera angles, shallow depth of field, muted colours and amazing Texas scenery make this show chocolate for my eyes.
SOHI Autumn Fashion
Followers of my blog will know that I recently shot For SOHI Magazine (one of the loveliest magazines I’ve ever seen), you can see the finished product here. Today I’m going to show you some of my favourite shots that didn’t make it into the magazine.
The shoot was styled by Rebecca who owns the amazing Roots and Wings Design in Berry, if you are ever in that part of the world...

Mark & Melinda's Wedding
Earlier this year I got to photograph Mark & Melinda’s wedding…it was lovely. It was a beautiful day and a super fun reception (they had a magician!). I was also totally blown away by Melinda’s amazing style. When so many brides seem to cram as many beads and sequins as they can onto every inch of their bodies…Melinda was a picture of simplicity and class. Enjoy!
See...

Caleb's Christmas
What did you get for Christmas last year? I know it was a little while ago…but did you get socks, chocolates, DVD’s?
I have to say that my husband Caleb got the coolest Christmas present from me…a life size portrait. This all started a couple of years ago when Caleb told me he wanted a ‘Lord of the Manor’ painting of himself. So I commissioned my good friend Clare...
A Parks & Rec Wedding
One of my favourite TV shows is Parks and Recreation, it’s hilarious! This week April & Andy threw a party which ended up being a surprise wedding. Their vows were the high light…April says; “I guess I kind of hate most things, but I never seem to really hate you,” and Andy counters, “I vow to protect you from danger — I don’t care if I have to fight...
The Fashion Circle
I love the fashion circle! How things that were in fashion 15 years ago come back in again…example
In the sixth great I owned a bag almost identical to this one…now it’s back at Urban Outfitters.
