New Blog
Hello friends, it’s time for me to say goodbye to Tumblr…I have a new blog. Please come visit me here in my new location cause otherwise it will be a little lonely.
I was born in the 80’s and had most of my teen years through the 90’s so it makes sense that one of my favourite TV shows of all time would be The Secret World of Alex Mac. Pretty much the story goes that Alex the main character gets chemicals dumped over her and she gets super powers, like shooting electricity out of her fingers and turning into goo. This paired with her amazing hats and fashion sense (she was very hip in the 90’s) made for the best show ever!

I’m so excited to share the rest of the Joie fall shoot with you today. As I mention before I got to work with the lovely models Lauren and Hannah, Hannah also helped style the shoot and designed some of the lovely clothes she wore. Many of you would also recognise the beautiful stylings and designs of Lisa Barrett, the brains behind Tango & James.
These aren’t all the images from the shoot, if you want to check them out please visit my Facebook.

The fall issue of Joie magazine is out! Please click here and read it!

I’m excited to share the images with you from my shoot on Monday.
As you know I love taking photos and I’m also a little bit of a sucker for social networking…so I joined Instagram. Pretty much you have a profile, you take cute photos on your phone and then they get posted on your Facebook and Twitter. If you join please let me know, I’d love to follow you!
Here are a few of my Instagram shots.

Jane Campion is a visual genius…her movies are spectacular. There is a sadness and beauty to her pictures that I love so much.

The Piano is almost 20 years old, but it really is a timeless movie…with an incredible sound track.

Bright Star is also amazing.

I’m so excited to share this shoot with you today! Evan and Zoe are an amazing couple and it was so much fun to take their engagement photos. We started the day sharing a little food and drink at Tilley’s in Lyneham and then we moved to the park so Evan could teach Zoe how to throw a boomerang. This was quite a fitting activity as Evan is Australian and Zoe grew up everywhere (a military kid) including Japan and the USA.
These two are a such a creative pair, I love following Zoe’s blog and Evan is an amazing musician so make sure you have a listen to his music here. I’m so excited to take their wedding photos next month!

If you want to see the whole shoot go to my Facebook.
The beautiful dresses of BHLDN watch and enjoy.
I have a hilarious friend named Dave and he is featured in two super funny Blogs that you should check out. His wife Jessica writes a blog called “Crap that Dave says” which is exactly that…crazy stuff that Dave talks about. Then recently Dave started his own blog called “Crap that Dave dreams” which is filled with all his crazy dreams…this blog cracks me up! It also creeps me out just a little cause we find out how much Dave dreams about Caleb & I!

I’ll admit I wasn’t really that interested in watching The King’s Speech, I know it got great rotten tomatoes and it won all sorts of awards…but it didn’t really look like my sort of thing. So boy was I surprised when I finally sat down (or lay down as I was sick) and watched it.

The story was lovely, but more than that the visuals were amazing! Beautiful foggy streets and a muted colour palatte made this movie a pleasure to watch.

Also the wallpapers! I just loved the Art Deco patterns that were prominent throughout The King’s Speech.

Lastly Lionel Logue’s office space was run down but beautiful, I loved it!
I’m so excited to be sharing Nanette & Tarun’s wedding with you today. They might just be one of the greatest couples I have had the pleasure of shooting…they were just so much fun! This was a wedding planned so that the guests would have a great time, from the McDonalds snack break for the wedding party, to the ‘kids bag’ full of colouring in or the amazing dancers hired. It was the perfect day, if you would like to see more check out my Facebook where I’ve posted more images from this lovely day!

I’m sick and I have been for the last week or so…the only good thing about this (besides getting to catch up on movie viewing) is I have lots of time to think. Yesterday all over the news there was the couple who had the Lord of the Rings themed wedding, complete with Gollum as the ring bearer. If you missed it go here and get ready you are in for a treat. As I mentioned I’ve been ‘sick thinking’ a lot and this wedding got me wondering, what other hollywood characters would make interesting (hopefully not quiet as creepy) ring bearers? I’ve come up with a few, keep in mind I’m totally happy for you to use these in your own weddings as long as you credit me with the original idea.
1. I’m a huge fan of 80’s movies so I’m thinking a Say Anything theme would be awesome. A John Cusack look alike could walk down the isle holding his boom box over his head and the ring would be conveniently hidden in his trench coat pocket. Note: obviously the boom box would be playing ‘In Your Eyes’ by Peter Gabriel.

2. In honour of my Father I’m going to include The Matrix. The ring bearer would have to be a large African American man wearing sunglasses and the bride and groom would have to choose between the red and blue rings.

3. The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou was the obvious choice (we are huge Wes Anderson fans in our household). If you are a conservative couple this may not be the option for you as the ring bearer would be in honour of the running chick. But if you are a budget conscious couple this could be the choice for you…all you would need is a curly haired friend and a pair or running shorts.

I would love to hear your ideas for ring bearers, if you have some to contribute please post them on my Facebook.
The other styled shoot at Winter Wonderland was a family. Now I’m not a family or children’s photographer, so I kind of hung back during this shoot…but I still learnt some new tips and managed to snap a few shots to share with you!

There are a few more shots on my Facebook.
Good morning friends! Today I’m excited to share with you some more images from the Winter Wonderland workshop I attended. Christine did a wonderful job organising a shoot for the second afternoon which was styled the very talented Scout & Charm. Here are some of the images I took that afternoon, the rest will be on my Facebook.
